I have castrol Mercon V and it says just what others have said, it is OK to mix and match Mercon and Mercon V if the fluid specified is Mercon, but You must use Mercon V in Mercon V applications. So simple solution....just buy Mercon V, be it castol, royal purple, valvoline, motorcraft, or whatever.
