Polling the audience here on a possible engine swap...

I've got a line on a '94 5.8L and E40D overdrive tranny. F4TE roller cam block, complete MAF EFI engine w/ 120K on it and runs great w/ matching overdrive auto tranny that I'm thinking of picking up with intent to swap into the '71 in place of the FE 390/C6. It all came out of a '94 F-150 4wd so should bolt right up to my existing "married" 205 xfer case.

This rig will be 90% daily driver & 10% (or less) tow rig with the tows being relatively light (one of the Early Broncos, max 6K rig on 18' car hauler). I'm thinking the modern EFI'd 5.8L will increase my MPG enough to make it worth while, ESPECIALLY with the OD tranny, yet still have plenty of grunt to do the limited towing I'll need to do. I LOVE the FE but not exactly "practical" in the DD role.
