You mentioned a few times that there was only 6V at the pump. That is no good. There are 2 wires going to the fuel pump, one is ground and the other supplies 12V, which you should see for about 20 seconds after key is turned on.

Fuse # 19 (20A) in the under hood fuse box supplies power to the fuel pump relay which then sends power to the fuel pump. There is also a fuel inertia cutoff switch located behind the passenger side kick panel which interrupts power to the pump in the event of a crash.
