My 94 5.8 had the short filter when I bought it. I measured the length then went to a parts store and measured the FL1A . I decided the FL1A might fit if you did not need room to screw it on and off. I did not know the threads/holes are different. My 94 has the towing package which included the oil cooler under the filter.
