I have seen this done and while it looks better than using the original driver's side manifold and looping a pipe forward toward the radiator then down and to the back, the way you are suggesting still puts the exhaust pipe at an angle that interferes with the power steering pump.

I have begun to read about electric power steering pumps and would ask if anyone knnows anything about this as an option.
