If you keep trying to start with low batteries your going to eventually damage the ficm if you haven't already.
I have never ground the stater til the batteries were too weak to start after they were charged up. I just can't figure out why they went weak 1-2 weeks after install. I charged them up and it started 1 time. Since then, no start. I never try turning over more than 3-4 times, as soon as it sounds slow, I guit.
