If your intake bolted in? I'm thinking if you had some head machining done or are testfitting the intake maybe it is too high.
To simplify try setting up at TDC instead of advanced. Also, because the gear is beveled the dizzy can't drop straight down, it has to turn to the right as it drops. So be sure to start the dizzy at least a plug to the left of #1 and then turn as you push it through.
