Its a pain on the 5.4 driver side is pretty easy undo the harness from valve cover studs it pulls off, then disconnect the COPS and the injectors mark them if you need to set to side unbolt egr tube from valve and undo hoses from dpfe then unbolt egr tube from exhaust manifold ,you might need some jb blaster to get that off,unbolt oil tube from head remove cover and gasket ,replace gasket and grommets for studs ,dont forget a dab of gasket sealer at the seam where head and timing cover meet .....its the same for passenger side except the 42 pin connector is usually in the way, and undo the pcv hose ,trans fill tube,,,,FYI if you really want to make it easy and dont mind a little more work take out the wheel wells for wide open access
