one big problem that i have with our 99 ranger ( 4.0 ) is it will shake like what you are saying and so far it has turned out to be the plastic cooling fan that has lost some bldes that throw it out of balance , been replaced 2 times in last 3 years ! have you ever changed the fuel filter , checked fuel pressure ?
