As original, the bumper is painted, not chrome. Ford didn't offer a chrome front bumper for F Series trucks until 1957.
Carpenter's 1948/56 truck repro parts (2011 printed) catalog, on page 82...lists a 'cold rolled steel' 7C-17750-A front bumper for $150.00 and a polished stainless steel front bumper for $525.00.
7C-17750-A (replaced 7C-17750) .. Front Bumper / Applications: 1948/50 F1/F2/F3.
1951: Ford replaced 7C-17750-A with 1C-17750-A. The 1948/56
Ford Truck Parts Catalog lists the applications of 1C-17750-A as 1948/52 F1/F2/F3.
