That scangauge is a pretty handy tool. Before I got mine I thought my truck was in great shape. Since I've discovered my oil cooler needs replaced, my FICM unit was going bad, and now I've discovered my alternator is dieing.
Just load tested the alternator tonight and it'll only put out 30 amps. Sucks, but I'd rather discover this way than get stranded somewhere.
Next I'll be watching the tranny temp.
that alternator could of took out your FICM, and maybe your batts next
how did you check amps [ inductive amp meter clamp]
