hi and welcome, not sure about the gauge issues but i would check that the engine earth is in good order and the connections are clean and free from fur. bad earth can kick up all sorts of issues.
i used a code reader but just wondered if removing the battery terminal connection would clear the codes and make a better job of it ?
hope some one can make a more positive diagnosis.
