Ford RUG SR-OD: "Weak sister" single rail 4 speed overdrive, originally designed for and installed in Granada's with 200/302's in an effort to improve fuel economy after the first Arab Oil Embargo ended (1974).

Ford began installing them in F100/150's, Econolines, Fairmont/Zephyr's in 1978 for the same reason: Better MPG. Replacement parts are slim and none, expensive when you do find them.

The end of the shifter fits into a plastic bushing that was notorious for breaking. Lotsa luck finding any, it's been obsolete for decades and what NOS was layin' around has mostly been bought up.
