You need to know the build date. Post the VIN or look on the drivers side valve cover, it should have a date on the sticker. I believe you are looking for a date after late October 08. The sticker on the door jamb will at least give you the build month.
The problem with the plugs was that they
could break off when removing them, leaving part in the motor. Redesigned heads had more threads and different plugs, supposedly solving the broken spark plug issue.
44,500 is a little early to swap plugs IMHO.
Just an FYI, I also have a 06 F150 with over
192,000 
on it and it's on it's 3rd set of plugs. None have broken. First change was scary but second change was alot easier.
