I would see if there is a "Scrader Valve" on the engine,If so carefully push the center pin standing aside from it,and see if you have any fuel coming out.
Otherwise,I would double check all your hose connections.
I have heard that some of these motors do not have the schrader valve,but of you do it will be on the fuel rail.
I suspect there is air in the system,and perhaps it needs to be bled off.This however is just a guess.I have also heard of a "reset" switch located behind the passengers side kick panel which may need to be reset.The switch I think is designed to cut off the fuel pump in the event of a rollover.
Again,these are just suggestions,as I have had no real experience in having to deal with Ford Fuel pump issues.

In thinking about it...there is supposedly a fuel pump control module located under the truck,which from what Ive heard gets corrosion in it,and causes issues.Specific location....cant say for sure,but I seem to remember its attached to a crossmember under the bed.
