Fomoco came about in late 1950. Check that diesel in the IHC. It may be a supercharged Cummins (not turbo). No K or KB IHCs in 1938.

It is my understanding that only the truck (and pickup) engines were green for 52-53. The car engines were tangerine orange for 52-53.

Good advice, this. If driving it doesn't limber the seal and it still leaks, do inspect the seal surface on the yoke.

To piggyback, were the end caps left unpainted or were they painted? Have seen restored flatheads with generators both ways.
