It depends on the lights. I have some lower power floods that don't blind anybody. Beings how they are actually in a fog light position buy some "fog" leds. They should be ok. I put high power spots...

I was told that slide ins are a lot more complicated to build with so many options all in a compact space. I wish they were cheaper. Up here in BC Canada slide ins outnumber travel trailers....

The 4 wheel vacuum system is tied into the a/c. You will find your auto hubs don't work either, you will have to manually lock them.

As a general rule a longbox will ride smoother than a shortbox. As said, the truck setup is what makes the ride. A lifted suspension usually smooths out the ride if the proper parts are used.
