I've been running 80/90 gear oil for as long as I can remember in 205's and 435's. No issues and cheap to change.

Unfortunately as soon as you say LMC that's usually the problem. If I remember right the felts slide in a channel. If they are in the channel and they still don't work they are wrong.

Cool idea but damn that's going to take awhile....

Cool idea but damn that's going to take awhile. Plasma cutter for the bulk and a mill to clean it up would be the way to go. Fortunately it is cast iron and that stuff drills and mills like butter.

From the factory your truck came with fusable...

From the factory your truck came with fusable link wire. Not a replaceable fuse. This may be part of your issue. Fusable link wire is slow blow. Most replaceable fuses are not.
