Do it yourself, and save $1000 bucks or more. Most likely needs seals, and Frictions, nothing more. I went overboard on mine, and I spend 1800 with tools included.

check and replace all the one-way vacuum valves along the firewall to the right of the ESOF solenoids. there's like 3 of them.. your losing vacuum off idle to the IWE's

i.m in the mood for a nicer truck, but not new. i found a 07 F350 SC LB DRW with a 6.0L and the 6spd, manual 4wd, 4.10 ls rear for 13k, NO RUST. NO DAMAGE. 191k miles.

Yup, that sounds like the solenoid is not working.. Replace that, and see if you get true 2WD back..

No, does not not sound like this problem.

What is does sound like though is U-joints, or a T-Case problem. I would check out or just replace your u-joints. It's cheap and easy..

This kinda ticks me off, but it is what it is.

I have one of those odd 2000 F250's with the 32 spline steering gear. I replaced one about 3 years ago, and it all went smoothly, all lined up...

Ya, get a new relay first. cheap.. unless you jumped the proper wires on the relay, and heard it click and make the motor run. I would suspect just the relay.

After that, get a new switch....
