I assume you know about the 5.4 plug issue. If not, they used a 2 piece plug that can carbon up around the tip and cause them to separate while trying to remove them for a plug change. That can end...

Doesn't your 2005 have 6 bolt wheels? 2000 should have 5 lug wheels if it's like the 97 I had. May physically fit but you'd either have to get different axels and have them drilled or mix rims.

Most Bang for the buck

Depending on what the O.P. plans for the truck, there are some decent options for good trucks out there. Unless you 'need' a 4x4, watch for 4x2's as they can be gotten for a good price at times...

Hubs

If you're still running the original hub, it's a 1 piece. As mentioned, Centric has a kit that splits the hub and rotor apart into a 2 piece unit. I've had a set on my truck for almost a year now. ...

Rebuild

Great info here, have not seen some of these things apart before.
I'm sure it will run like a champ when you're done.
Well done.

Idea

I had this type of situation once after a relative ran a vehicle though water very fast, splashing the engine. I had a can of LPS water dispersant spray and I took every connector apart in the...

Mileage

I just sold a 97 Scab with a 4.6L, stock truck. I also have a 07 5.4 Scab with the heavy half option(4.10 rear, 8' box) also stock, and both are 2wd.
They both ended up around the same mpg around...

Options

If you're possibly replacing it anyway, consider the Centric's 2 piece replacement front wheel assembly. It makes it like T-Bird is where the rotor is separate from the hub so the rotor can be...

caliper

If the piston is not retracting, rebuild or replace the caliper. You don't want to risk your safety on a bad caliper.

Replacement hubs

Direct replacements. Remove the caliper & mount, remove the spindle nut and slide off the original hub assembly. Slip the new hub onto the spindle and torque the new spindle nut down to specs. I...

Hub

I can't speak to the bleeder question, but I can speak to the hub on a 4x2. It's a one piece unit: the rotor and hub is a 1 piece unit with bearings pressed into them.

If you want a two piece...

Tires

I think you should figure out the weight of your truck along with the max load you plan to carry first. My truck came with E's but the winter tires are D's. I just know the load difference and...

Mileage

I'm not the norm here but take it for what it's worth.
I have a 07 8200 lb gvw F150, extended cab with a 8' box. It's got the 5.4L engine and 4.10 gears and it's a 4x2.
90% of my driving is around...
