"Ford Blue" wasn't a color until the mid-60's. There are varying shades of that, too, light, medium, dark, etc.

I'm not sure exactly what color your engine would have been in '49, but Ford used...

It would be nice if they came with a drain pan attached to the legs, when you're suddenly reminded you didn't fully drain the transmission. :-banghead

True, but that doesn't stop a lot of people from routinely substituting 3/8 fuel line for 11/32 brake hose and add a couple extra hose clamps to hold it on. :-huh
