what did you clean mass air flow sensor with? I have heard that some chemicals can mess them up. I have not tested that though.

I may try adding ground there and see if it works. It is pretty well all still intact under the hood. Usually wires and hoses have been butchered by now, but this guy is particular with this one.

have you checked the TPS with an ohm meter? I have seen them get a bad spot in them where there is no contact in a small spot.
