Are you sure this isn't an engine fault that is causing the engine to turn slow ?
Does it turn over reasonably free with a socket and ratchet on the crank pulley ?...

I always try to get the headlights that park lights can be used behind , then just fit an amber globe in the park light and use it as a turn signal .
That's what I will be doing with my 56 .

That's a strange way of setting up a watts link .
The center should be mounted to the diff housing , and the outer ends mounted to the frame .

It would eliminate any faults within your trucks wiring if you have any .
Are you running a ballast resistor in your ignition circuit ? , as you should not be if your running an electronic dizzy .

I have a mate here in Aus that fitted a fiberglass tilt f/end on his 55 .
It is a very nice pickup , but he hates driving it due to the fact his front flops around .
He just leaves it in the shed...

Ross it won't harm anything , as electronic ign coils require a full 12v to operate correctly .
That brings me to another question , I hope the ignition circuit isn't running through a ballast...

Try disconnecting your coil and run a hot wire...

Try disconnecting your coil and run a hot wire from the coil to your battery .
Also I would check the drive on the bottom of your distributor as cams can sometimes chew them up , is your rotor...

Can anyone tell me the difference between a 1954 f600 frame compared to a f100 version ?
Other than length and heavier duty suspension , what are the other differences ?

Pretty sure that model Jag suspension is different , and may not be usable .
Jag series 1 from about 1968 , until Series 3 that ended around 1992 are ok .
The series 3 ones are best as they have...
