Just a thought but have you checked the catalytic converter to see if it's plugged up? That would really hold her back. But I agree that being that low in the RPM I really wouldn't expect it to pull...

Not sure what kind your looking for but summits got an adjustable double roller for around $50. It their own brand but you could advance the timing a few degree and pick up a little more torque down...

O'Riley's or any parts store should be able to get it. I believe the dot on the crank gear should be directly over the key way for the straight up style but don't hold me to it.

I believe you need to get a set for a 68-71...

I believe you need to get a set for a 68-71 429/460. They were the straight up style timing. 72 or 73 went to the retardant Timing.

429 build help

First off the engine is out of a 71 thunder bird its a 429 .030 over getting forged TRW flat top pistons that a are supposed to produce 10.5 to 1 CR with dove c heads which are the heads on it now....

Well I've studied on it and I believe I'm going to use the 280h. Better low end and I can use a 2500 rpm stall. I'm going to shoot between 10 to 10.5 cr. Anything else you guys can think of?

2.5 from the headers back to flowmaster 40s is what he's got now. Its new so I don't see much reason to change it. 10.1 and the ex284. Will the quick fuel 750 be enough to feed it?
