It would be pricey but there are facilities that will build up the damaged surface and remachine it to spec. One such place is Flame Spray, Inc headquartered here in San Diego...they spray on metal...

First of all you shouldn't be using HOK KD3000 Surfacer/Sealer as a base primer...it is too thin. It is made to be a surfacer, light duty primer to fill scratches and cover filler and/or sealer...

the kit has some hardwood blocks to space the window felt in the vent wing area. Find some more of these blocks or make some out of rubber, metal, etc and replace the spacers you mistakenly cut out.
