Mine sometimes is temperature or humidity affected, the PO said it did it for him too. He is an electronics guy and had an explanation as to why, it has to do with the sensors that were used.

Sequential injection did not start until 1994 5.0L, 1995 5.8L both automatic trans versions. 7.5L did not get sequential except California spec.

They had a test plug pair up by the MAP sensor and solenoids in the right front (see the 86 EVTM). One of the big problems was the adjacent ground connector.
