Change it , I would drain the oil into a new white 5 gallon bucket , let it sit overnight and see if how much it separates, then I would change the oil at 3k interval while sending in a sample right...

My powermax did have lower boost than stock and acted like u describe, it does need a tune to really make it shine. your peak boost sounds right, 35lbs your old one was ready to lift your heads

I left it connected electrically and bolted it to the intake elbow just so the cooling system performs properly, you don't want to remove the EGR valve completely from the truck

It has performed flawlessly and I do not even look at oil and coolant temps spreads anymore, oil stays in pan, the oil in filter will drain back to pan when you remove oil filter, the quart or so oil...

IIRC I didn't drain the oil when I did mine, and only drained roughly a gallon or two of coolant, cleanliness while doing the work is high priority along with covering the intake runners when intake...
