I would also replace all the rubber gas lines I can get to. It is not very expensive and eliminates the possibility of a deteriorated gas line.
Side note, you can use carb cleaner or flammable brake...

Well, I would say if it had an in-cab tank it is a non emissions vehicle. Kinda doubt they would put a vent in the cab. But I am also shocked that there is an in-cab tank in a 77 f150.
