Had it happen on my 2000 explorer.

5 min with a brass brush and a can of carb cleaner solved the problem. just clean where the throttle blade closes against the body.

Easy peasy

Look at the yellow sticker in the drivers door...

Look at the yellow sticker in the drivers door jamb. That will have the payload for that truck as equipped.

the 2000 v8 AWD explorer I had was the best most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, hands down.

being that the turbos are supplying the same amount of air the engine is trying to consume, and there is a restriction inbetween it stands to reason that there would be a positive pressure in front...

on my old-school AWD Explorer the spec was 0.25" in circumference, which as I recall for that size tire (much smaller) equated to about 3/32"


Measuring 0.25" circumference proved to be much more...

Tom brought up a good point about the drilled hole being a source of unfiltered air entering the system under no boost and vacuum conditions.

Perhaps there is a work around for that, bit with that...
