I've seen that mis-information on RockAuto also...

I've seen that mis-information on RockAuto also on brakes. Rangers did not get disc brakes until 2010. Size is also cast into inside outer rim.

I added one of the Richmond Gear "No-Slip" units for the snow and love it. Took little over an hour with common tools.

The auto's do have a rev limiter set at 3000 rpm in park or neutral. No idea of the 55 mph problem.

The bearings and axle shafts are the same for both the 7,5 and 8.8 28 spline rear ends, It's the 31 spline 8.8 that takes the larger bearing.
