Interchange book I have show that block casting number was used from 75-80. Only think with wrong date would be the valve covers.

I added one of the Richmond Gear "No-Slip" units for the snow and love it. Took little over an hour with common tools.

The auto's do have a rev limiter set at 3000 rpm in park or neutral. No idea of the 55 mph problem.

The bearings and axle shafts are the same for both the 7,5 and 8.8 28 spline rear ends, It's the 31 spline 8.8 that takes the larger bearing.
