But regarding a black fuel filter from engine oil.

Is not the fuel rail dead headed on the SD trucks? Unless there has been sort of regulated return...

SSTL bolts typically don't have the yield...

SSTL bolts typically don't have the yield strength of the 10.9 metric fastener. Coat the 10.9 with anti-seize and install it.
