I just did the repair. Not that interesting. The plastic T on the OEM part is weak and will fail at some point. Cut out T, replace with clamps, or replace entire hose assembly.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I have no expirience with aftermarket seals but rubber is expensive and making sure it's the right tooling is important. If you can return the $30 seal I might give it a shot.
