I did the same repair replacing the thermals with a solid...

That one should work. You will have re-drill the hole for the pin.

I can help with the parking brake question... I searched for a while & never found a handle. A few of the repro companies make the cable & assembly, but no handle. I finally used a Mustang handle...

Which is interesting.... I know these were on the truck & had caps! I was the first one to put rims on it... My dad had many different caps (including Cadillac) that he changed out often.

We now have a dishwasher type of thing that ALMOST gets the sludge off. Doesn't do anything to the paint.

I just went through this when I built my 429. ...
