The trans will bolt up to the engine and you should be able to make it work. Is the auto you're removing a C6 or an E4od? If it's the E4od then it's controlled by the engine's computer and you'll...

Maybe you could retrofit a tire carrier with a manual crank winch from another vehicle. Then you could keep the tire in the same out-of-the-way place but it would be so much easier to get to when you...

I would think it would be more work and money to change to a carb than to run down the problem.

What isn't right about how it's running? Rough idle? Idles too high? Too low? it might not even be...

+1 the what was said above. Unless everything is royally effed then keep the EFI, it's a pretty simple system to work on and EFI is just better all around.

Check the axle code on the door tag to find out the gear ratio. I forget what code is what but just do a search for a door tag decoder. If you have the 3.55 gears you'll probably want to put in a...

That's a non-issue. If you hit something hard enough to rip out a front I-beam then it would rip out a solid beam. The strength issue mostly comes into play if you have 4wd and torque is being...

It's very common for the electric 4x4 stuff to malfunction. I think usually it's the electric actuator that shifts the T-case or since it's sat so much the linkage or something could be corroded and...

This. If you can get a D60 swap that in. Or just buy a cheap beat up 4x4 and keep your F250 and leave it alone. I always have two trucks anyway because no matter how good a truck is sooner or later...

I get that there are some issues with the dual tank systems but they aren't that big of a deal and having a spare tank and fuel pump can be handy.

I'd need to see more pics but I'd say $2500 tops if it's NICE, probably $1500-2000 range and 2K is optimistic. I have seen straight 2wd trucks and even 4wds go for around $1K but they tend to show...

How old is the coil? Running like crap when hot is a sign of a bad coil or other ignition component but with these EFI engines it might also be something like a temp sensor. The diagnostics on these...

I'm not trying to be a jerk but, those are questions you should have asked before you even bought the axle. A 10.25" from the same era truck would go right in. I'm not sure about the older D60. I...

All that matters is what Ford says it is and they say it's a '97. Normally, yes, it would be a '98. In other cases it might be a 1/2 year light the '79 1/2 Rancheros but it's whatever the...

Probably the easiest and cheapest overall option would be to sell your truck and find another with a ZF5 or E4OD trans.

The AOD likely won't hold up in an F250, at least not in stock form if...
