Personal opinion but they tend to block my view out the windows more when mounted hi than when mounted low.

I have just the opposite problem, I have a 53...

I have just the opposite problem, I have a 53 axle on a 48 F1. Just found a used 48 axle and purchased a disk brake swap with the 5 on 5-1/2 bolt circle. I also need to get a new set of spindles....
