I have a Holley and Electric pump , but I always mount the regulator on the inner fender , easy to adjust there and doesn't soak up engine heat .

nut probably didn't strip , the inner cable can push in and out if it is to far out you will just spin the nut and the threads won't grab . How do I know I did this putting my custom Dash cluster in...

lay an old blanket over cowl
most windshields you put the bottom in place then pull rope to pull top of seal into place
our trucks are the opposite , tuck top into place...

anyways , all you really need is the PCV (,Brake booster if applies)and Vacuum line from Dizzy to carb for advance

just wire the cig lighter to ground the coil , no one will even think to look at that

that will keep the truck from disappearing but what about people just parting it out where it sits?

stable is good , normally a good sign of timing chain & gears in good shape etc
