normally the new bushings will require line...

normally the new bushings will require line reaming to permit the pin to fit in . Your brother in law may be thinking of porous bronze bushings

As the other guy's have said it's the same truck...

As the other guy's have said it's the same truck with different badge and tri details . Trim parts can be very challenging to locate if anything is missing .

I removed the plastic parts off a spare 12"...

I removed the plastic parts off a spare 12" Dewalt chop . Works well enough for for the amount I need

I got mine from The Old Car Centre in Vancouver (a Dennis Carpenter product) the 2 of us put it in with no problem

I should think you will spend every nickle of that but you will certainly have fun . I agree with Ross the engine will take 3,000 if it's worth fixing . Pull it apart some more and investigate
