When I first got my truck on the road I ran it with no fenders. It was easier to fix and adjust that way. It was similar to the pic, except the tires weren't as wide. People loved it!

I agree with Stu. Practice a bit with a good flare tool and you'll be fine. BTW, you don't need the $200 eastwood tool to make good flares.
