Just run a bead of RTV around the mounting base on the intake and it will seal fine.

Got the truck back to town, finally. They did get the new balancer fully seated and the new belt on - all good there.

The truck sounds good at start up but there's still a knocking noise coming...

Think of it this way - a 300 is your 400 minus two cylinder and with a U-Turn head.

A 460 has the same transmission bell pattern as your 400. If you're going to swap engines that's the direction...
