As I posted earlier, if it sat for 6 years & who knows how long the fluid was in there before that & brake fluid absorbs moisture, it likely has plenty of rust & sludge in the system, so no surprise...

Motorcraft DOT-3 fluid is recommended for these reasons, Why Change Brake Fluid (http://www.aa1car.com/library/bfluid.htm) as its very good quality....
