Installed the radio ( w/ speaker mntg. bracket & radio support brace from Ilya) today . Got it all in , attached the knobs , turned it on , the vibrator was working but no sound . Thought no way this...

Checked the gauge this afternoon . Reads correct .I have half a tank . Measured it w/ a stick sat. As soon as I turn the key to " On" it goes to full . Will do what Nicholas+ suggested & report back...

Colonial , Zenith & Motorola radios were used . That one is obviously a Motorola . Put it in this afternoon . Have yet to drill the hole in the upper firewall for the radio support bracket .

The thumb screw is worth more than the jack if...

The thumb screw is worth more than the jack if original . They are scarcer than hens teeth ! Found one in a F-2 truck last summer at a yard in N.Wis. & it turned right out . Made the whole trip .

Gas tank float ?

No wonder the gas gauge didn't work . One of the only things I thought couldn't be screwed up but the PO did it ! PO must have been short on $$ .All though it did happen & required a new sending unit...
