I'll bet that snow under the sawdust will be there till the end of May. They used to keep ice cut from the local lake intact all summer by layering sawdust on top.

We've made some progress. Much warmer weather in the last six days.
The snow is slowly losing the battle. The apple tree is now fully visible again. (see picture) Snow is about 15" deep.
