Get a thin wall deep socket, pull the speedometer gear out, and take a look-see.

How bad does it bounce? At slow speeds I have a little but there is none between 45 to 100+ mph.

If you're any sort of a hand at building/modifying stuff I'm sure it would be easy to make it work.
