Some of us drive the old trucks and a new truck. And in my case, the latter came with an auto-opening tailgate. Just push a button on the key fob. But, get the right one or you'll start the engine. ;)

If the front cover isn't leaking I don't see a need to remove it. And even if you did remove & replace it, if the front seal isn't leaking I wouldnt replace it.
