I would guess you have a plug or coil problem....

I would guess you have a plug or coil problem. (Bucking under light load) seems to be right in line with my experience of this. Try a search lots of these threads come up with the 5.4/bucking.

Its usually the parking brake shoes and mechanism inside the rear rotor.
I would not use any liquid/petroleum based lube on a cable it will just attract dust and be a real problem later on.

On a lot of designs the transmission can leak into the transfer case. I'm not sure if this is one of them or not.
