Do you have the right hinge bolts? Based on your hood design, some use non-shouldered bolts. I had a similar issue until I got non- shouldered bolts.

All, Thanks for your help. I was getting worried that I perhaps had an issue.

I used the original rear brake cables with the 1970 F-1 housing in my F-1 and they worked fine.

Maybe I am confused but don't you just have to unscrew the plug at the end of the drag link and remove the spring and spacers?

I too put a 1971 F-100 rear end in my F-1 and...

I too put a 1971 F-100 rear end in my F-1 and the only thing I had to change were the shock mounts. I ended up with~ 4 degree pinion angle without adding any shims.

Running Boards

I made the mistake of putting the fenders on before the running boards. This will not work and I had to remove the rear fenders. The sequence given is correct.

I am looking for the air deflector that is attached to the underside of the hood and covers a portion of the radiator. Need one used on a SIX cyl motor.
