I don't know about the 77 gauges, but the 80's are notorious. You can pull the factory sender, screw in a tee, and then screw in both the factor sender and the line to the aftermarket gauge.

I wouldn't change the oil until 1000 miles. The moly is small and won't plug anything.

On the oil pressure, do you have a real pressure gauge or the factory gauge? I don't know about the '77...
