What ignition system are you running, Duraspark...

What ignition system are you running, Duraspark or TFI? Ignition modules have been known to react badly when hot but work OK when cold.

Had a similar problem on an '84 F150, no power to anything. Turned out to be a corroded connection (actually corroded away) inside one of the plugs. It was the major power wire (not sure what it is...

I have read on other parts of the forum that you can power the pumps without the computer by grounding the fuel pump pin in the EEC test connector. This is supposed to trigger the fuel pump relay...

'89 F250 would not have 9" rear end. My '89 F250 4x4 has 10.25 " rear and has leaf springs in front, not sure about 2WD front.

A cleaner called Mean Green seems to work fairly well. Nothing degreases like Methylene Chloride but you won't find that just anywhere.

I can't remember whether I got them from the local auto parts house or from Fastenal, but I don't remember having much trouble. I think they are oil pan drain bolt washers.

Use 5/8-11 bolts 0.4 inches long with copper washers. (per Gary Lewis in answer to the same question). Worked for me.
