Just bought a 2003 6.0. $4000

what did you put in for coolant? sounds like a good deal. the very most basic 6.0 rule is to always use oem oil and fuel filters. also make sure you have the short oem oil filter cap.

Personally I would flush, install a oem oil cooler and add a coolant filter. refill with cat ec1.

start with filters, oem fuel both on the rail and in the engine bay. As stated get something that will tell you live data. Could be many different things, the cat is probably not your problem.

fuel diluted oil will effect the hpo system, it thins it out. Take the valve covers off and cycle the fuel pump. Watch for fuel leaking from the base of a injector.
